HISTORY
Creekside Kennel, nestled in the scenic hills of Poestenkill just north of Albany.Established in 1990 by Dawn Niebuhr, Creekside Kennel Ltd provides pet owners with a variety of quality boarding options and services including boarding, grooming, obedience. .
Growing so succesful in its first 3 years, expansion of the facility became necessary. Starting with 13 indoor/outdoor kennel runs, there are now 31, all heated and covered. Additionally, cat boarding facilities and a training room for one-on-one or small dog obedience classes have since been made available. In the summer of 2000, two swimming ponds were also added to the Creekside property.
OWNER, DAWN NIEBUHR
Owner Dawn Niebuhr unquestionably has a deep connection with dogs from all walks of life. In addition to managing Creekside Kennel, she has, bred, trained and shown champion Trialfast Golden Retrievers and Chinese Shar Pei. Dawn also has a long history of rescueing strays, working to reunite them with their owners or, when that isn’t possible, working in conjunction with rescue groups to rehome them.
OUR RESIDENT CAT
When you come visit Creekside you are likely to be greeted by Elwood, our kennel cat. Elwood is extremely friendly and loves to rub against your leg when you enter. He will happily trot outside and hop into your car if you leave it open! He also loves to bring his people presents.
